About
Pen&Pencil are a creative writer/artist duo based in the Netherlands and founded in 1994. Lisa Salindeho (a.k.a. Tamako Akiwa) writes comic scripts, haiku poems, novellas (short novels), short stories, and visual novel screenplays. Manon Yapari creates cartoons, comics, computer graphics, drawings, (cover) illustrations, and paintings. Their works were published in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and the United States, and translated in German, Spanish and Japanese. In 2005 they won third prize in the Dutch national manga contest Fanthology for their work Kairaishi: Puppet Master.
In 2003 Lisa and Manon joined Goldfish Factory as Ypsilon². Goldfish Factory, founded in 2001, was the first successful doujinshi circle in the Netherlands and the founders of the Dutch doujinshi scene. Despite their popularity, Goldfish Factory disbanded in the summer of 2007, and Lisa and Manon continued under their original name of Pen&Pencil.
During the years after 2007, Lisa and Manon were distracted from their creative projects due to the demands of study and work. In January 2009 they began a multimedia project, which is currently still under development, under the name of digiRevi. For now though, in 2010, Lisa and Manon have decided to make a new beginning with Pen&Pencil. Some of their old projects will be upgraded, while other, new projects will be started.
